Archaeology Family Activity Day

October 11th

10:30 am – 2:30 pm

 To celebrate Texas Archaeology Month, the Frontier Times Museum will host Archaeology Day on October 11th on the museum grounds.  Activities will include Digging for Artifacts, Foodways of Native Texans, Atlatl Throwing, and Make Your Own Pottery Bowl.  On hand to do demonstrations all day is T. J. Jennings showing a collection of arrowheads and projectile points, and Christian Markham. who will demonstrate the art of flintknapping. Jennings and Markham will also be presenting programs at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm on the museum’s Trail Drivers Theatre outdoor stage.

 Activities and programs are free with museum admission.  Everyone is encouraged to come and be an archaeologist for the day.  The Frontier Times Museum is located at 510 13th Street in Bandera, Texas.  Visit www.frontiertimesmuseum.org or call 830-796-3864 for more information.
