Robert L. Mansfield
The induction of Robert "Bob" Mansfield marks the first time siblings have been recognized. Bob's brother, legendary World Champion roper Coy "Toots" Mansfield, was inducted in 2011. Born in Bandera in 1909, Bob Mansfield was a lifetime resident of the county. In addition to ranching, he produced rodeos every Saturday night in Bandera, as well as the Stompede Rodeo. He was a trustee of the Bandera ISD for 11 years, organized the Community Wolf Club and was a Director of both the Bandera Farmers and Ranchers Association and the Bandera Wool and Mohair Association. He received the Conservation Award for Bandera County in 1953, 1967 and 1990. Highly respected for his ability to train horses, he trained for other rodeo performers like his brother and for another Texas Hero, Ray Wharton. As a horse trainer, Bob Mansfield was, Wharton states firmly, "one of the best ever!"
