David K. Langford
David K. Langford wears many hats in his career as a naturalist, wildlife and western photographer, rancher and conservationist. A native Texan, his family has been in ranching and the flour milling business in Texas since 1837. Langford’s highly awarded career as a photographer celebrates his love of Texas and its people, landscapes and wildlife. His works have appeared in publications such as The Smithsonian magazine, Western Horseman, Texas Highways and Field and Stream. His vision of photography as art has led to exhibitions at numerous galleries and museums. In addition to his photography, Langford is an avid wildlife conservationist, serving on numerous boards that strive to protect the natural treasures of Texas. He received the 2004 Harvey Weil Professional Conservationist Award and was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve on the Environmental Flows Advisory Committee and he was a long-time officer of the Texas Wildlife Association. The Images for Conservation Fund's second book was dedicated to him, an honor he treasures as the first book was dedicated to none other than Lady Bird Johnson. Langford and his wife, Myrna, live on a six-generation family ranch between Comfort and Fredericksburg. |
