Clay Conoly

Clay Conoly’s Texas roots go back to the Alamo where an ancestor died fighting for Texas Independence.  Today he lives and operates the famed Dixie Dude Ranch, a ranch started by his great-grandfather more than 100 years ago and transformed into    a legendary guest ranch by his grandparents, Dee and Billie Crowell.  Clay takes pride in dedicating himself to operating the ranch as his grandmother had and making sure the ranch adheres to its original purpose of being a real working ranch with livestock, cowboys, and home-cook meals.  A spiritual quest in the 1990s brought a new purpose for the ranch – one where the ranch is used to heal others.  Today, Clay works with the Lone Survivor Foundation bringing wounded warriors to the Dixie Dude for outdoor and equine therapy.  He also works with the Make a Wish Foundation, giving families with terminally ill children a joy during their difficult times.
